Scholarship, academics and grades are the mainstays of college life, and the sororities at KSU recognize the importance of directing students into special scholarship programs. Greek-letter organizations were founded on the principle of successful scholarship. Panhellenic requires a minimum GPA of 2.5 to participate in recruitment, and each chapter has its own minimum scholarship standards, academic programs and a sister in charge of monitoring the chapter's scholastic progress and implementing academic programs and study sessions. Scholarships are available through the individual chapters and national sororities.
Sisters in each sorority are members of academic honor societies, including Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science Honor Society); Lambda Pi Eta (Communication Honor Society; Psi Chi (Psychology Honor Society); Alpha Psi Omega (Theatre Honor Society); Phi Eta Sigma (First-Year Honor Society); National Society of Collegiate Scholars; Golden Key International Honour Society; Phi Kappa Phi; and the KSU Undergraduate Honors Program. Panhellenic sorority members also represent a large percentage of KSU's chapter of Order of Omega, a national honor society for Greeks.
The academic performance of each chapter is tabulated every semester to determine overall chapter rankings. The all-sorority average has been consistently equal to or higher than the undergraduate all-women's average.
