| National Panhellenic Conference Mission Statement |
The National Panhellenic Conference exists to promote the values of and to serve as an advocate for its member groups in collaboration with those members, campuses and communities.
National Panhellenic Conference, founded in 1902, is an umbrella organization for 26 inter/national women's fraternities and sororities. Each member group is autonomous as a social, Greek-letter society of college women and alumnae. Members are represented on over 620 college and university campuses in the United States and Canada and in over 4,600 alumnae associations, making up over 3.6 million sorority women in the world. |

| Kennesaw State University Panhellenic Association |
| At Kennesaw State University, the KSU Panhellenic Association serves as the governing body over the three Panhellenic sororities on campus, Delta Phi Epsilon, Phi Mu, and Gamma Phi Beta. The KSU Panhellenic Association is operated by executive officers and delegates representing all sororities, and is focused on promoting the interests of social sororities and the Greek community as a whole at KSU. | What's the difference between a Social and a Service Sorority? |

Social Sororities:
- Belong to a inter/national governing "umbrella" (National Panhellenic Conference) consisiting of 26 different sororities.
- Have socials with both fraternities and sororities on campus.
- Have a national alumni status.
- Accept only women.
- All inter/national NPC (National Panhellenic Conference) sororities expect every member to strive to fulfill her academic potential. Most chapters have an alumnae advisor whose focus is the scholastic success of each member, and many have a faculty advisor who is a positive influence on the intellectual life of the members.
- Provide a standards board structure by which chapters hold their members accountable for their behavior.
- Have local alumna to serve as a chapter advisor.
- Membership is selective and through invitation.
- Have their own philanthropy they help through fundraisers or community service.
- Have national publications available to all members and alumna.
- Members can only hold membership in ONE social sorority.

Service Sororities:
- Central theme in day-to-day operations is service
- No national governing board
- non-selective membership
- Co-ed
- No alumna status
- Can hold membership in more than one social sorority
